Bullfit Detectors

Watch these kids react to “inspirational” fitness quotes to see just how unrealistic they really are.

BULLFIT BELIEF #1:

They Say “#Fitspo is motivating.”

WE BELIEVE: It’s not about showing off. It’s about showing up.

Most of what you see as #fitspo isn’t even real.  While social feeds make it look like the world is full of ‘perfect’ people, in reality, 80% of Americans don’t even belong to a gym at all.  These unattainable and unrealistic images keep more people out of fitness than bring them in. It’s BULLFIT. Planet Fitness offers a Judgement Free Zone® where everyone can feel comfortable and confident starting their own personal fitness journey.

BULLFIT BELIEF #2:

They say “It takes so much time to be worth it.”

WE BELIEVE: It’s not about counting hours. It’s about minutes counting.

The majority of Americans believe that if you can’t devote 1.5 hours for 5 days a week, you may as well not even go to the gym at all.  That’s BULLFIT. You can actually get dramatic health benefits with just 10 minutes of exercise. The immediate benefits of exercise are often overlooked, but sleeping better, feeling happier, and having more energy sound pretty worth it to us! Our certified fitness instructors can help you make the most out of whatever time you have.

BULLFIT BELIEF #3:

They say “Competition is motivating to working out”

WE BELIEVE: It’s not about competition. It’s about making every workout a win.

Many boutique gyms stress leaderboards, diagnostics, and competitive head-to-heads. It may work for some. But it doesn’t work for 80% of the population. Don’t worry about what works for the extreme few, worry about what works for you.  When you stop focusing on the BULLFIT and start thinking positively about your own fitness journey, the results have already started.

BULLFIT BELIEF #4:

They say, “NO PAIN NO GAIN”

WE BELIEVE: It’s not about the pain, it’s about the perks.

Due to the nature of social content and #fitspo, most people believe that when it comes to fitness, you have to hurt your body to make it work.   It’s BULLFIT. Truth is, 80% of Americans don’t belong to a gym at all, and this kind of fitspiration isn't motivating people to start. It’s never too late to start on your fitness journey and you can count on the fact that when you step into the gym for the first time, the majority of those you see working out are first timers as well. None of which are in pain.

BULLFIT BELIEF #5:

They say “You have to exercise 5+ days a week for it to work.”

WE BELIEVE: It’s not about every day, it’s about feeling good every time.

When it comes to fitness, everyone is different. Boutique fitness facilities and online blogs will have you thinking that if you stray from their plan, you have to start all over. In fact 48% don’t exercise more because they have a habit of starting and stopping. It’s bullfit. Take a day off, sleep in one day, swap the workout for a hydromassage, eat a slice of pizza -- it doesn’t make your fitness journey any less important or meaningful.  In fact, PF offers our members free pizza and free bagels one day a month, every month, in order to reward and celebrate our member’s hard work and dedication to their own personal fitness journeys.
