Planet Fitness is Giving Away $200,000 to Students and High Schools
This summer was iconic. Millions of teens supercharged their summer by working out for free with Planet Fitness through the High School Summer Pass™ program. More than 3 million teens ages 14-to-19 entered the Judgement Free Zone® this summer and completed over 14.5 million workouts from May 15 – August 31.
Planet Fitness’ continued mission as the leader in the industry is to provide access to fitness for all, including high school students. This summer, teens had free access to more than 2,400 Planet Fitness locations in the U.S. and Canada – giving them the ability to start and stick to a health and fitness routine this summer and beyond.
In addition to providing access to summer gym memberships, Planet Fitness also launched a collection of digital workout routines for teens in the PF App to give their exercise plans a glow up—no matter their fitness level.
New to the High School Summer Pass™ program this year, Planet Fitness held contests1 to support and celebrate teens and their schools. Lucky winners across the U.S. and Canada have been selected as recipients of school grants and individual scholarships, totaling $200,000.
Let’s dive into more about how teens slayed this summer!
The Results Are In
A visit to the gym was the perfect way for teens to get out of the house during this summer, and the physical benefits can be seen year-round, as The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that 77% of high school students don’t get enough aerobic physical activity.

Big Energy, Big Wins
Another glow up to this year's program, is that the teen participants were encouraged to enter the Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass™ Contest for a chance to win a $10,0001 scholarship to further their education. After signing up, teens submitted TikTok videos sharing their unique experiences including new exercises they’ve come to LOVE, how working out has helped with their physical and mental health, and what they’ve done with the extra confidence and energy they gained from the program.
